Anamaria Marinca, a Romanian-born actress. She was awarded the British Academy Television Award of Best Actress in The Channel 4 Film Sex Traffic. She can fluently speak French, German English, and Romanian. Her mother played the violin and her father is a professor of theater at one of Romania's best drama schools. The award was presented to her as with the Best Female Actor Award in 2000 for the Mangalia Gala for Young Actors. In 2008 The European Film Promotion Board recognized her as the first European Shooting Star. She taught for four years at University of Fine Arts Music and Drama George Enescu Iasi. bAnamaria Martinca is a Romanian actor born April 1, 1978 in Iasi, Romania. As an actress from Romanian origin, Anamaria Marinca made her debut in film in the TV series British-Canadian Sex Traffic for which she received the British Academy Television Award for the Best Actress. In addition to her outstanding performance in her first film, she is recognized for her performance in the Romanian art film 4 months 3 Weeks and 2 Days which won her many awards including winning the European Film Award for Best Actress London Film Critics. She starred in Cristian Mugiu's Romanian film "4 luni 3 saptamani e 2 zile" (4 Months Three Weeks and Two Days) that won her the Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival 2007. The film also earned two awards in addition, it was awarded the Cinema Prize of French National Education System (FIPRESCI Prize) as well as the Cinema Prize. She also appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's film Youth Without Youth. In 2008, she appeared as Yasim of Angwar in the BBC miniseries of five episodes The Last Enemy. Marinca appeared in her role in the Romanian drama Boogie and in Oliver Hirschbiegel's critically acclaimed Five Minutes of Heaven. Later, she had a major role in 2014's Fury where she played Irma who was the German aunt of Emma.
